Biking in India

Biking-As a profession in India

Biking in India is a profession which is not yet an option for the Indians, there are it is growing but not with a good pace. The only attempt made in India is the Madras motor sport club in Chennai is by the authority but the youngsters are stepping forward and making attempts with the emergence of international bike manufacturers like Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and other such companies.

In European and American countries it is a profession which has made a good spot as a profession in these countries. People in India are quite talented but because of lack of support from the country and families this talent is given no importance and rather it is looked down upon.

Nowadays there are events which are held in India and have a great relevance for the bikers in India like the ‘Raid de Himalayas’ and ‘The Iron Butt challenge’. Since the generation now is very smart they are coming up with new ideas like biking clubs and exhibitions. India is also known to own the largest bike group in Asia ‘xbhp’ that stands for extra brake horsepower and is witnessing the formation of other groups like Sprockets-motivating sport called biking, the legal crime club, RODS, xkmph ‘extra kilometers per hour’ the ghost riders not only this India also have a bike group which allows only the real sports bikes and super bike with the name GODS- Group of Delhi Super Bikes, although attempts are being made by the Indian companies as well to give biking a new face like Bajaj automobiles have come up with many new models and giving a competition to the foreign players not only this the manufactures have also come up with a stunting reality show with Mtv.

Biking is not a sport just for circuit racing but it is also about rally racing stunting and the favorite of all touring on bikes. Events are also organized for the purpose of both touring and racing like Raid De Himalayas. It is a challenge that starts from Shimla to The Himalayas. It is an event both for bikes and four wheelers. In this challenge hundreds of biker crazies take part and try to finish it first in the given time. The other event similar to this is the Iron Butt challenge in which one has to cover 16000 km in 24 hours time.

The licensing authority issues such licenses in favor of FMSCI. To obtain this license the only thin one need to do is that he should have a license to drive and has to pay the required amount for the license.
In India stunting is not really appreciated because the government is not equipped to train stunt bikers rather doing something to promote it the government banned stunting. It is admitted that stunting on roads is illegal and it disturbs the traffic but they do it on roads because they are passionate about biking and they are not provided any platforms or a place to practice them so that it doesn’t disturb the regular traffic. India is trying to match the European countries in economic terms but it is useless until and unless it is in favor of its citizens individual interests. The government and the authorities should take it as an international platform to represent India. The Indians always follow the foreigners as their idols, why not to make an effort and give the Indians an idol from India itself.

It is very clear that the foreign players like the alpine stars, DSG, KBC, AGV, and the well known K&N has started shipments in India with a vision to find the best bikers from the country and give them a chance to perform from their sides and then India will again regret to the loss like it did when the Kohinoor was taken away from us.
